Looking for options for my recently acquired 67 SS and I find a Vacuum Trunk Release offered for sale but can't find it listed as a viable option in my books or Al's list here on the web site. Anybody ever heard of this option for 67's?

Thanks

The assembly manual shows it as RPO A 91. However it is shown as canceled on 3-28-67.

If you haven’t got an assembly manual yet you should get one. It is full of valuable information.

Thanks for the input Elree, I am getting an assembly manual in a few days. I do have the Service manuals for body and chassis so I will hunt there also. Update-found it in the service manual, doesn't show much so I will rely on the Assembly Manual as soon as I get one.

I too just found one of these in my garage.I thought it was from a 1967 Chevelle. It is all vacuum powered.
Pretty neat.I do not need it for my chevelle though,so let me know if you would like it,or I will list up on the Classifieds.

Looks like 3 major parts in the book. In 12.243 group you have the following:

63-69 Chevy, Chevelle,
65-68 Pass. exc. Sta. Wag. 3825538 vacuum release

63-67 Chevy, Chevelle,
65-68 Pass.
68 Chevy, Camaro, Chevelle 3775637 COUPLING ASSY, vacuum release cyl.

63-67 Chevy, Chevelle,
65-68 Pass.
68 Chevy, Camaro, Chevelle 3868724 CONTROL ASSY, vacuum

If your car is dated much after 3-28-67, it won't be correct but it'll be cool!

Gentlemen, and I digress here, is there a preferred vendor of assembly manuals? i have a photocopied POS and need a good one.

Mr, Nixon, I sure hope I get to see that car in person someday!

The Assembly Manuals are all reproductions obviously, but some are made in low budget basements I think...most any that you see on E-bay on any given day ( lots) are good IMO. I would wait until a swap meet to get one, cheaper and you can see it.

My '66 Impala has one, stock and even works quite well. Likely the same piece as the Chevelle unit. Yea, it's pretty neat. If y'all need some pics of it lemme know.

OK, now that I have committed to buying one of these am I hearing they were never put on a 67 or just cancelled in the spring of 67. Don't want to put something on my car that was never available. My books refer to it and the service manual shows it in place.

Al, help me understand where you were able to confirm they were never put in production. I am about to spend some money I may be wasting.

Thanks
