They are done, finally! My brothers upholstery guy had these for several months. I think he did an awesome job!
They started out life in a 67 GTO. Removed and put in dry storage since the early 80’s.
Rambo supplied his BOP to Chevelle conversion kit, which made a huge difference. I had Legendary make the covers in 66 frost white, but in 67 configuration. Added American Cushion seat buns, new burlap, and padding. Also added head restraints.
Door cards will be white while 5e headliner, carpet, and dash will be black.

Your seats look great. I assume you are leaving the back panels, skirts and headrests black. Can't say I have ever seen that combo before but think it looks good. Kind of original yet custom. Was that combo planned or just someth8ng you stumbled upon? Are those headrests repo? If so didn't know repo headrests were available.

I had planned on white seats and door cards but since neither the head.inner or carpet are available in white, nor would I do either in white, I figured why not break up some of that white a bit more.

Yes, reproduction head rests. That was a spur of the moment addition. One I’m glad I decided to do.

Shane & Rich, thanks for posting. Yes, the black head restraint, back, and skirts is unorthodox, I agree. I think it will work since most of the interior is black, carpet, head liner, dash. The exterior color will be Tahoe Turquoise so the white is really going to accent it nice. I plan on having the SS side stripe painted on white so it ties the interior to the exterior, at least that’s how I see it in my minds eye…. The white interior was the idea of John Truman, the guy who put all my sheet metal on.

Lol, I’m told that white will pick up the dye in jeans. Looks like these will be covered with full length white covers all the time. I need to look into a protectant/ sacrificial layer of protection to make keeping them white easier. If that even exists. The upholstery guy told me to invest in Spray 9 stock……

Back in the day I had a 65 Impala and a 67 Camaro. Both had white interior. Don't think I owned anything but jeans back then and I don't recall them getting stained from my jeans.
Think I've heard that spray nine is the cleaner of choice. Wonder if leather conditioner would be a protectant also I used to clean the Impala and Camaro seats with Murphys Oil Soap and that may be a protectant as well.

Early 80's I had a 71 or 2 GP SJ 455 with White Strato buckets & door panels, rest was Black and I wear jeans and Never any stains, Great looking interior combo IMHO

Sadly they don't really don't repro head restraints... well. In fact the covers are not even correct as they were molded out of plastic/vinyl so to cover them it is tough to make them look stock. I was going to put my mint black one's on my seats... but after seeing the look it wouldn't work in my car with all Parchment interior except for carpets and console dash. Oreos are over rated anyway...
I have a pair of black head restraints that are less than perfect and asked legendary to make a set of covers out of the metallic parchment they used for the seats...for 68. They are sending me the swatch soon??? hahahah what am I thinking. The seats look good Hope they work for you in your car. Now if they started to reproduce them...for the 66-72 years I am sure they would sell. TMI covers look better for a 68 IMO as Legendary only makes for a 69 and they are a different shape. But will the materials match? Not into trying to match a mint set of black rests using paint or dye. going to ask if TMI will use the material from Legenday to make 68 covers.

I still think legendary is telling you the wrong things... 68 headrests are the same shape and size as the 69-72 headrests, the only differences have to do with the location of the lock notches on the legs.

Only 66/67 are the bigger Flat faced style like shown in the top thread... So Legendary's 69-72 style covers will fit, exactly as TMI's do.
As long as their latest batch of vinyl matches your seats, I wouldn't hesitate to order them, they will look great.
