Is there a way to adjust/move the stock non-tilt steering column in my 67 convertable forward 2 -3 inches? With the seat ajusted back I'm a good distance away from the dash and the clutch pedal feels good but the wheel is just to close. The steering wheel hangs over the seat by 2 - 3 inches. I like to have my arms stretched out a bit more when i drive.

after removing the column from my 67 and replacing with an IDIDIT column (turned out very nice, have a few issues like my #5 pip is too close to the DD shaft and am going to need to dimple it but) I would say you could move your stock column perhaps an inch or so. It will require breaking the welds on the shaft on the rag join end and then cutting the shaft down and re-welding it. ( we were basically able to decide where to place my IDIDIT column within the adjustments of the factory column drop bracket )

Try one from an Impala. They are longer. The wiring may not be the same but Gary's Classics in Athens, Tx can make you a pig tail. I used several in chevelles, mostly 69, because they were cheaper. Will help get you into your gangster lean!

I'm getting ready to put the JGC steering box in and i was curious if i could just get rid of the rag joint, and use a universal joint and cut the shaft to the length that sets the steering collomn where i would like it?
