I have run across a 67 SS conv. that maybe coming up for sale. It is all original and was restored four or five years ago . The guy that has it feel and left him mentally impaired and now she is thinking about selling it. The car has been out only once or twice sense the accident. The car has been restored to all original including motor and drive train. I have not seen the car yet but will be in the near future. Based on my friend and what she has said how much do you think the car would be worth. If it is what I think it is and what my friend and she said, I thought I would offer 33 or 34. Too much not enough or what? For what it is worth it is a four speed with a white top and white interior. thanks

33 or 34 is way low for a fully restored 67 SS vert. They only made about 2,500 of them. Those cars are selling for 50 to 60 easy in top condition. regular 67 malibu ragtops are in the 25 range for fully restored. Tell me where she is, I will offer her 40 if the car is that nice :)

I don't normally give my value opinion here.. but I will say this... if experience has shown me anything, it is that most of these cars when described as you state here... are NOT ALL THAT! Don't count on this car being fully restored as what most of us think that means.. has it been repainted at some point? sure, and that may be your fully restored car.. and the part about back to Original condition... don't count on that either.. if I had a dime for everytime I hear that line and find just another backyard garage rattle can restored car... I hope I am wrong and you find a really nice car... but just don't count on it.

As for the price.. well.. it all comes down to exactly what I am talking about here.. if you want to see those prices quoted above, and No offense to the fella quoting them, he may be right, but the car had better be show ready!! and Not the local Firehouse Car Show ready!..Fully restored to factory specs, done to the highest level of correctness.. 67 SS CONV. might hit the $70K level.. but that is TOP SHELF Trailer Car! so Many factors to consider when quoting prices on these cars.. like matching numbers, documents, condition, quality of resto., Options, the list goes on and on.. it's more than just a having a 67 SS Conv.

I would not offer the amount you are saying just yet.. see the car, take pictures and report back to us for a better idea of value... tell the owner after seeing it, you would like to buy it, but need a few days to think about it and that you will get back to thme with a fair offer soon.

That's my 2 cents

Mike, thanks for the adviise. I will do just that. My friend has to arrange the meeting to look at the car so when that happens I will get some pictures and post them. I'm actually been a pontiac guy till I sold and new to the chevelles. What numbers and where should I look. engine, tranny, axle. As far as a build sheet or protecto plate none was mentioned. The car has set for a few years which is not good but in a climate controled garage. How do I know what Hp it is? thanks

Mike, I agree with you on your points. However, if the car is as the original post said, fully restored, all original, etc, then the 33k would be a steal of a price, but you really need to go over the car with a fine tooth comb

The Engine Deck Stamp on the front of the block above the water pump will have the engine assembly date followed by the letter suffix code for what HP engine it is.. then the digit for the Model year ( 7 ) and then the suffix code for the assembly plant itself, ie A or B or K, etc.. and then the serial number to the car. may look like T0408EF 7B123456 ( just an example ).

Get pics of the TRIM TAG, VIN TAG, engine bay, interior, trunk, exterior... and if possible underbelly, but atleast look under there..

The TRANS. will have the assembly date on the case lip... passenger side and VIN on the other side ( possibly on top of case which you will not see ) Rear Axle will have an assembly date stamped on the tube, passenger side facing front side of car. Don't pay attention to the numbers stamped in the trunk rails, many think these are VIN and they are not.

Get back to us..

and Yes, we all agree, if it is FULLY RESTORED.. can bring big money.. and if it was a Survivor, it can also bring very good money... and 33K would be a good price for either of those two scenarios.... but it still boils down to numbers, quality, and the other stuff......just remember, you can always increase an offer, but you can't go backwards..

Another point.....you say it has a white interior. The factory did not offer a white interior in a 67 Chevelle, so this might be an aftermarket interior. At any rate, it is not still the original interior.
