My repop switch feels sloppy makes me a little uneasy not sure its safe

Cant remember how this thing comes out & removing the knob?
Hoping to somehow do this without pulling the dash.

Any good sources for quality switches? Have my original somewhere which was tight but hate to stick a 40 yr old part back in.

Also when I hit the brights switch the headlights shut off whats the deal there?

There is a spring loaded button on the body of the switch that releases the knob and shaft. Probably your dimmer switch is faulty or you have all burned out high beams.
