I noticed some of the flat black paint is starting to flake off of one of my taillight bezels on the 67. I wanted to just mask it off, and spray it with some flat black paint. Anyone have any suggestions on what kind would work best?
D/K. I new a body guy several years back that was sold on True Values "Hi-Q" enamel as a dead on match for GM satin black. He also liked the way it sprayed (I agree). Lot's of late 80's and early 90's GM cars had a lot of black trim. He'd buy a box at a time from the hardware store. No True Values close by any more, so I don't know if the quality is still there.
I sort of like any of the "better" brands that you can get at the parts stores (not the big box blue or orange stores) for spray quality, coverage, and speed of drying. Avoid Wally paint.
