1964-67 Chevelle rear ends were manufactured by the Chevrolet Gear and Axle Division.

The housing measures 53.25 inches from backing plate to backing plate and

with the brake drums in place, the total width is 60.00 inches.

Axle tube flange-to-flange is 54.25 inches. Generic Rear Axle Info

As 123pugsy noted, not all 1967 12-Bolts were 60" flange-to-flange. Late 1967 were in fact the same 61" width as 1968-72 axles. I have had a couple of each 1967 axles fwiw.

My 67 was produced in January 24. 1967 and shipped the next day
with the 60" Wide Rearend / which means it was a late 1967 produced car /
they started to be produce them at lest 6 months before that for the Fall Sale in 1966
so if the OP could give us a Build/Shipping Date then we could tell him for sure !!??

Plus it appears that 123pugsy has a 68 Chevelle which would defiantly have the 61" Wide Rearend

Not to be argumentative but a late 1967 vehicle would be June/July would it not? January is more mid-year as it was the 5th full month of production.

I bought this off a guy, used, coulda been anything. But ya, it had the correct numbers unless El Caminos used the narrow ones.
Too bad it wasn't the narrow version. I ended up cutting an inch off each side.
