'67 Beaumont SD - What do ya think?

Gentlemen,

A good friend of mine is considering this car for purchase. After years of reading here I am confidant that I could help him make an informed decision on a Chevelle but Beaumonts - well, I dunno.

For those that DO know would you please have a look at the photos in the link below and let me know what you think. Not too concerned with things mechanical, or with body issues - more concerned with authenticity and any issues that are specific to these cars.

Many thanks,

Dan

I tried to call my buddy, the 67 Beau SD expert, but he's in the Antartica for a couple of months servicing the helicopters for a Greenpeace mission (must be nice). I'll give you my thoughts on this with disclaimers for things I'm not sure of.

- Firewall is body colour which is correct.
- Inside trunk is also suppose to be body colour.
- Side stripes are definitely not correct.
- Dash area around gauges should be woodgrain (??????).
- Don't know if the Beaus were available with a kneeknocker tach, if that's what that gauge is.
- The Beaus had a different air cleaner decal. The "396" would be the same, but the other script should read something like "Econo-Jet 325/350 HP (not sure on the exact wording).
- Nice to see the quarter louvers.

I know I could provide a lot more information if my buddy was around. Hope this helps a bit anyway.
