Im getting ready to buy seat foam and covers for my buckets.I have a 67 chevelle and Im thinking about going with 67 gto covers.My question is my seats came out of a 68 chevelle The button is on the side and the back cover is plastic.Are 67 and 68 the same?And will 67 covers and foam fit on 68 buckets.I thought the only difference from 67 and 68 was the 67 had metal back covers.Thanks Tom (67 chevelle ss).

they will fit just fine. what about the back seat. you will have two different patterns

Other than the seat cover pattern, that is correct.

I agree with Bill. You'll have more people telling you that the covers aren't correct than the backs are the wrong material.

That said, I think its a unique idea. Why GTO covers? Like the pattern better than Chevelle?

Well my chevelle is a ss clone so I dont feel bad making it a little different,and I kinda like the gto seat pattern better.Im also going with the 67 gto back seat cover.Thanks for the info.Tom(67 chevelle ss clone w/gto covers).

Wasn't trying to be critical. I did some things to my 68 Malibu that most purests wouldn't like. I enjoy detailing something specific to my car. I have the Malibu emblems from the trunk of a 2000 Malibu on the front fenders of my car.

What i was trying to say is that someday you'll go to a car show and some a$$ will spend 15 minutes trying to tell you why your car isn't correct, blah, blah.... Thats all and I am definitely NOT that guy.

Yeah I thought about buying a set of 67 beaumont tail lights and housings I seen for sale and then put the 66 chevelle emblem in between them with the ss 396 emblem off to the side like the 66.I think the beaumont tail lights are cool kinda like 69 road runner tail lights.But I didnt buy them.lol.It might piss off the beaumont guys that need them I bet there pretty rare.lol

Honestly, If YOU like the GTO covers better, go for it...

IMO, I also think up a story just to screw with the guys that give you grief... Something like there was a strike and the GTO covers were all that was available (this actually did happen for 1968)... or tell people you uncle odreded the car that way...

Rather than get annoyed, sometimes its more fun to mess with people
