I was just wondering if there was any differences in a 350hp 396 aircleaner base compared to a 375hp 396 base. My dad put an original 780 Holley on his 67 and the rod for the accelerator linkage gets hung up sometimes. The rod is against the base when this happens. The Q-jet that was on it was for a 67 396 and it did not have that problem.

Someone one day was telling the bases were different for the dual line Holley than the Q-jet. I did see a Corvette air cleaner base from a 65 396 and the base looked a little different in that area.

Don't know the exact answer to your question but I do know that the 67 396/350HP motor came with single feed 585CFM Holley carb. I know this because that is what is on my car and I did some research on this.

Only the 67 396 325 HP cars came with Quadra-jet carbs and thus, a spreadbore intake. As far as the 396 375 HP base being the same this I do not know. I believe the carb was a dual feed 780. My reference material says that the List number is 3910.

I am sorry about that. The original carb that we had was for a 325 hp q-jet. It did however have a stock 350hp air cleaner though. I just wonder if the dual line Holley air cleaner base was made different than the single line. They did however use Q-jets on the 350hp 396 in 69 though.

Is the throttle rod straight or bent?? I believe it needs to be bent if it is not currently. Has something to do with clearing the aircleaner base...
