i have a 350 set aside for my car,
i want to throw a supercharger on it and put in my chevelle.
but i want to keep my ss hood.
it has a 283 in it right now,
the motor mounts are stock.
so i am wondering if a low profile super charger would fit under my hood?
and what set up on carb or filter could save room to make it fit?
thank you very much.

Procharger...
definately fits under the hood.

A 144 Weiand mini-blower should fit under the 2" S/S hoods with a lower profile air-cleaner. a 144 supercharger is a tad bit lower than the 142 supercharger. Its almost an inch lower and you need an extra inch to make it fit. the 144/142 blowers are a super fun kick in the pants for any street car. NOT meant for all out racing but for a fun street car and some 1/4 fun, these little guys are worth it. I bought a old 144 at a swap meet last year for $750. It adds around 100hp/tq.

You should have a 9.1 compression ratio or preferrabley less and make sure your timing is coservitive and not run too much total. 91+ octane is a must aswell.
