I need some help! I am attempting to piece together a power steering setup in my '66. The problem is the original engine was long gone when I bought it. It now has a '72 402 big block with short water pump and the alternator on the driver's side. I have the gearbox, hoses, pump with reservoir, and brackets that attach to the pump. I need some pictures of what the setup looks like so I can find and buy the right pump pulley and possibly a 3 groove crank pulley. I also need to see what the tension adjustment bracket attaches to. If it is another bracket, I'll need that too. It seems pretty tight and close to the alternator belt. I'm thinking I may even need to go with a pump with remote reservoir. If anyone has pics of what this setup should look like or advice on what parts work together, I would sure appreciate the help.

If you are not worried about it being original, CC had an article about a late model serpentine drive setup a while back for both SB&BB Chevys. I had similar problems with brackets and clearances, etc so went to the junkyard and $75 later had all of the parts (inc. the P/S pump). It looks great and works even better. Just a thought.

look for a set up out of a early 70's BB chevy or GMC truck. it looks very close to the original set up. and you can use all the brackets. you just need the step out crank pulley, all new hoses, clamps, and the bracket that holds the reservoir tank on the rad support. that is what I used on my 66 BB.
