Here's the info I got off of a car I'm looking at...body tag:
02C 5906
ST 66-13817 KAN 8052 BODY
TR 763-B F-F PAINT
2LGR
Decode anyone?
Block (seems to be restamped):
F10C592
VIN (thank god the 138 is there):
1381761XXXXX (left out the variables since engine doesn't match anyways.)

Can someone decode the body tag for me?
Any clue what the block may be? I couldn't see the date code yet...there's a blower in the way.
Help in this matter would be MUCH appreciated as I'm considering buying this car.

Thanks guys,
-Mark

Welcome aboard....we do have a special section called TAG TEAM that you can post these type questions and on the home page there are links to individual years which you can click on and do yourself....but given your new, what the heck.

02C = Third week February built car
KAN = Kansas City Assembly Plant
763 B = Black Vinyl Bucket interior
FF = Marina Blue Paint
2LGR = 2 for Option Group # 2
L = 4 speed trans.
G = Console
R = Rear Radio Speaker

And you already know the 138176 tell syou it's a real 66 SS Chevelle
The other misc. numbers are assembly plant tracking #'s used for that purpose only.

Good luck with the purchase
Mike
