What is the factory finish on the 66 ss396 sway bar? Here is a nice '66 that has it painted grey.

I always thought black oxide or grey phosphate. This car was sold by a TC member at BJ I believe for around $77k (+/-) if memory serves. I would assume it's correct with all the AACA awards it has.

Dale,

I think some sway bars were installed "as forged" and "as heat treated".
They would have a dark gray/black appearance but there was no applied finish.
Others may have been black oxide.
