After 26 years of asking I got a neighbor to sell me there original owner marina blue, white top, black int. ss chevelle with 37000 miles. they parked it in 1976 because it needed a starter!! they covered it up and put a sign on it not for sale, after about 15 covers it just sat there looking very sad. the good part is all the important parts are there and in good shape. Does anybody know how many convertables were made with the EDH engine code? what is the real horspower of a holley equiped 396? it was built 3ed week of july 66.

Very nice pickup, that is my favorite car of all time. EDH Holley equipped 396-325 HP for manual trans. For model year 1966 the constraints of the insurance industry hadn't put it's holds on the high performance automotive market yet, 325 is probably dead on for rated vs. actual horsepower. Welcome and good luck. Jason.

Wow, persistence pays off, Don  Congrats on the acquisition. You'll find plenty of help here if you need it.

I don't know if there's a breakdown as to how many Holley-equipped engines were produced in 66.

There is a breakdown of how many "engines" were produced by suffix code (sorry, don't have it with me here though), Including which engines had the Holley and which had the Quadrajet. Just no breakdown of how many convertibles came with that engine. The numbers include extra "warrantee" engines...
