Someone i know says they have one of these 1/2 ton ford trucks that runs and is in ok shape with no rust. I dont know anything about these trucks. Are they a good project? worth any money? She wants $1500 for it. I havent yet seen it but i will if it seemsl ike a good project

I towed with a 65 for years. I put later disk brakes on it (the orig. are way too small) and a 390. It worked fine the early twin I beam suspension is just about un breakable and there is not much to go wrong with the rest of the truck. One thing though power steering is impossible to find and they really need it if you go to any bigger tires on the front.

They're great, except for one thing. F-O-R-D :D My Father had a 67 for years. You can beat the crap out of them, and they just keep taking it.

My first ride was a '66 F-100, if was a short box I would have kept it for sure. It was a 352 4 speed and I did beat the tar out of it, to my knowlegde it's still running around. I love chevys, but you can't break a ford truck. They look great in '66, best front grill of the 60's fords.

They are great trucks, I beat the hell out of one for over 6 years and its still alive and kickin as far as I know to this day. Mine was a 352 4 speed, but I put in a 390 and a car toploader 4 speed later on. I loved that truck and would jump at the chance for another to this day.

You can swap disc brakes from a late 70's full size van right onto them, same king pins and stuff on the I beams.

They are classy and fun to drive, heres a pic of my old beast:

The prices on these are going up all the time, 1500 is a deal, check under the hood for rust, the core supports go on them, and the tops of the inner fenders where the fenders bolt on.

Cool old trucks, good luck!
