I think it should have a two wire connector, power and ground. Can't remember the exact configuration. I'll try to get a better answer this evening. Can't remember, one wire may be the light.

Tony explained it well. However here's a picture of the back of a clock and the wire connector. The red arrow is pointing to the ground clip Tony mentioned. The orange is power, always hot, the black is the ground, clock back to ground clip.
