Hey guys, my chevelle I bought didn't have the correct radiator in it when I got it.It was pretty rusty looking inside so I thought I would just replace it.It looks to be a 4 core.The one I bought was for a 66 chevelle 396 and when I took it out of the box it looks like it is a 3 core.Do I really need a 4 core or do you think the new 3 core will be fine ?

A lot of the aftermarket radiators are three core so that should be plenty to keep it cool. As always, just keep an eye on gauges and you should be fine.

Should be fine, had my original rad recored with a 3-row core and it cools nicely.

A shroud will certainly help if you don't have one, and make sure the fan is about 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the shroud. Supposedly that is the optimum fan position for best cooling.
