Hello,
I am building a 66 Chevelle frame off resto-rod, UMI suspension with coil-overs, new steering components, 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box, Baer Brakes, Big block.
The frame is back from blast and paint, waiting for the suspension to get built from UMI (great people to deal with and very helpful).
The body is going out for blast and primer this week to start metalwork.
I will need to order rims soon to make a roller out of it i have 13" rotors so will be doing 17" rims.
I will take any input on the rim setback and widths i would like to go as wide as possible in the back i will not be narrowing the frame. I am thinking 5 star rims of some sort. Pics of yours would be appreciated
Any other helpful input/ Don't Do that's is appreciated.

I'm running 18's

Front's are 8" with 245/45

Rears are 9" with 275/40

I think a 285 on a 10 " rim is easy and 295 might be possible.

If your car is lowered and has big breaks it gets harder just to install the tire and wheel as they get bigger.

I think my rims are 5.5 BS. I wish I would have gone with 5.75 BS

I think you should at least entertain the idea of boxing the frame. If you painted your frame, you'd only have to repaint the center section.

Thanks to everyone I appreciate the input of you have any photos of your rides I would love to see them. Sooo many decisions. I am still not sure about the boxing of the frame I am definitely getting a lot of advice to do it. Just wondering what I will get in real world benefits that are noticeable I will not be auto crossing the car mostly cruising and occasional drag

I said the same thing and I got more "don't box it" than "box it". So I didn't box it. Saved me alotta unnecessary work :grin2:
