66 aaw classic update dome light harness and headliner

I just installed a new headliner in my 66 but havent glued it yet because of a question involving the dome light wires. I plan on using the aaw classic update kit but haven"t done so as yet. That means my rear harness will have to be replaced. Can I still use my dome wires or will I have to take down the headliner and buy the update kit and install the new wires? If anyone can clarify it would be appreciated. Dont want to glue the headliner and then findout I have to replace the dome harness and tear it all out.
