Bottom of the second "E" looks kinda strange, like it was an EF block. The sideways 4 would be something I probably would have done to make a boring job more interesting.... :D

Not to me, and obviously not to anyone else, yet...

Right Dale and adds so little to assuming one has to have a block dated x amount of days before the build or broadcast date. No baisis ever to establish how or when engines were stockpiled if ever. I recall some moron here said that train shipments took a month to deliver to the final assembly plant. Or as Bugs said, what a maroon!

Well, I'm not sure who the moron is, but you can certainly argue that it could easily take quite a bit of time for a motor to get to Fremont from Tonowanda by train. I would say that a month is NOT out of the question. Vs, maybe one day to get from Tonowanda to Framingham. Its all relative based on distance and transportation type.

My block was casted on April 22, 66, assembled on May 18, 66 and has a 3rd week of May build at Framingham - to get to the perspective of timing.

Sorry driller but not a chance in where ever that you could base your statement on anything. I have a Fremont car with the cast date 3 weeks before broadcast date and a Kansas car with almost a 3 month strech. Pontiac was also pushed to get V8`S from Pontiac Mi. to Fremont, Kansas City, etc but nothing would indicate a month ride especially with documented cars with no more than 8 days lead. Remember also that no one should even care what your firewall tag says in regard to the cast date---You have to have the Broadcast date to figure the lead of any car but motors get repaired and reissued and then finally stamped with the VIN and very much not connected to the assembley date of the engine . The broadcast date is the birthdate of your car not the firewall tag. A ride around on a train for a month would be either the unions fault or a breakdown.

Not really wanting to debate you on how fast trains get around the Country. All I mentioned is that its all relative and that it would obviously take longer to get to California from western NY than any other factory in the US. So are you saying that you have a car built in Fremont with a Tonowanda engine and only 8 days from engine build date to car assembly?? I stand corrected.
