Love the wheels! Thank you for the compliment. For the few miles I have put on, they are great. They definitely don't feel heavy on there. I haven't cleaned them up yet, probably need to do something special for that.

Your rims have a deeper lip than mine. I didn't want to have a deep lip on the rear of mine. Rim size on the rear is the same though, 18x11. (y)

I narrowed my rear end maybe a bit too much :)

The simple things that take some time that you wouldn't expect.

That rear license plate bracket, with the spring in it so you can fill up the fuel tank....that new spring has some tension on it. Had to use some rivnuts to secure it to the bumper, had to order up the short rivnut tools as I only had the large handled one that wouldn't line up without hitting the top of the bumper.

Anyway, got my old plates from 1991 on there, they aren't anything special or a vanity plate, but they are kinda cool to be able to use them again.

For everyone who is mid project and disappointed or frustrated, lost motivation, I have to say that I get the biggest smile when I can now just go out and fire the car up, back it out of the garage, pull it back in...simple as that, motivation is back! It is awesome. I go out and fire it up a couple times a day I feel like. Got some headlights in the mail today, will get some pics of them installed hopefully tonight. Also pulled out the old doors to get the door latch stuff off them and reinstall those. Back to little projects to keep the progress moving forward.
Same here dan, just retired and its all i can do to keep from firing it up every day and taking a spin.

Got the front lights put in today. Need to figure out the blinkers. For some reason the wiring harness doesn't match the plug harness. Also here is a pic of the door handles.

I also still need to adjust the lights to be horizontal/level. But I like the look.

Great looking build. The grey and black really bring out the best in those body lines.

From someone who recently spent way too many hours wiring up new front turn signals on their '64, make sure the turn signals were shipped with the correct 1157 bulb. Mine were delivered with the 1156 bulbs installed and had me scratching my head for a while before I figured it out.

Thanks!

I figured out the wiring, the connector on the vehicle side was an L shaped plug, and the pigtail from the actual light was a round plug that goes through the bottom of the inner fender. I was thinking that you should have a round connector for each side, but instead the L shaped plug fits the inside of the round plug. Then I didn't have a fuse under the dashboard, so once I got that installed the front and rear blinkers are working! YAH. Although I still don't have parking lights....maybe that has to do with the 1156 bulb...hmmmm

Now I have 3 headlights that light up bright, and one low beam on the passenger side that is dim on low, and nothing on high. Will swap out lights to see if it is a light or wiring problem.

Also I still don't have brake lights...more to work on tomorrow I guess.

Check your parking lights with just the parking lights on.. Our cars are wired so the front parking lights turn off when the headlights come on. You can move one wire in the headlight harness and have them coming on both ways, I found it when I first got my car going.

I installed a new AAW wire harness in my 65 and they change the wire locations on the switch so the parking lights remain on when the headlights are also on. They show you how to change it back to stock if you choose.

Got the headlights sorted out. Had one of the plugs wired backwards. So now I have all 4 headlights working, blinkers working, haven't checked reverse lights, and still have to figure out parking and brakes. Guess I should check the license plate lights too.

Got the brake lights figured out, part was the switch on the pedal, these hydraboost brakes stop too well so you don't use much pedal. Had to reposition the switch. Second part was poor grounds at the taillight. So fixed those up as well. License plates are working as well. Still haven't figured out the parking lights, but man is that a contortionist that needs to crawl up in there behind the dash to see that light switch. But I am happy for now to have brake lights, blinkers, and headlights. Time for some weatherstripping to stop some of the clunking. I have ordered and re-ordered weatherstripping for this car, I must have 4 sets...so if anyone wants some, let me know, it is all yours.

Dan, not sure you have checked your wiper motor or not but i have the same as yours. I’ve worked on these for a week and had problems with them. I got them to work fine until a friend give me a tip. I put a wire tie on the post to check the travel and park. When turning wipers on leaving park they swept way down onto the cowl vent. Not sure the park position is correct, check before putting you arms on.

Thank you Mike. I haven't gotten to the wiper part yet, but you are right, I have no clue where the resting point is for those right now.

I seem to have misplaced my front windows, so trying to locate them.

Got the driver side weatherstripping done. Went with the Metro brand since I had both Soffseal and Metro....time will tell I guess. Used the 3M 08008 adhesive, worked very nice with a small tip so you don't over use it.

I used the Metro Super Soft on mine as well. Had heard that SoftSeal wasn't as as soft as it should be and some had trouble until it was in place for a long time.
