I have to replace the radiator/fan in my 65 Chevelle SS , it's a 327.
I was told I should put in a 66 BB radiator(?on rows) and fan shroud (plastic/metal??)with a flex fan.
Would I need to modify the radiator support etc..
Which is the best set up for this slightly modified 327.
I do alot of freeway driving in So.Cal, stop & go..
Thanks in advance.

"Ground Up" sells a four core radiator that fits with no modification. The correct fan shroud for that car is a metal one, but is almost impossible to find and I don't no of anyone reproducing them, however it probably won't be nessasary wit that four core radiator.

Try using an electric fan. There a lot of different kinds to fit your radiator . I have an electric fan with a shroud built right in. For stop and go traffic I think the electic fan is better because when engine rpm is low the fan keeps pulling lots of air.Not to mention one less fan belt.
