I have a question about the blue 65 convertible on ebay currently. Is the
car worth that kind of money? I am looking for a nice 65 and I'm not sure
what they go for. Its a blue convertible . I would post a link , but sorry don't know how to do that yet .

IMO, no plus seller is kind of embellishing facts. Seems like a nice enough car in the photos but when people are making stuff up I tend to walk away

Not a real SS car but a fine example of an SS car with all emblems and badges.
...is like saying not a college grad but I bought my diploma online so I'm a fine example of a college grad.
This car is not an original SS but is a super fine example of an SS car
...or I'm not a college grad but I'm a fine example of a college grad.

Engine Block # is 3782870 which is a 1965 327 corvette engine.
...and it's the same block used in all other 65 Chevrolet applications like Chevelles and passenger cars.
Head #'s are F05I4HO which is 1965 corvette heads
Heads don't have numbers like this, this is what's probably stamped on the block which does identify it as a Corvette 327/250 engine with Powerglide and brings up a question of does he know where the heads end and the block begins? The engine itself is probably no different that any other 1965 327/250hp engine but I guess saying it's a 'Corvette engine' it goes along with other hype like SS radio or SS bucket seats. I like the 327/300hp decals on the (non-Corvette) valve covers though.

A starting bid of $23,500 might be very, very close to his expected sale price.

He would have done better by just leaving the phony SS badges off.
It's a rather nice 65 convertible. He says it himself it is no race car, just a cruiser.

All of that engine and head numbers stuff means nothing, as was said, it's a typical low HP 327, which is what you want in a car like this.

If it looks as good in person as the pics, and somebody really wants a '65 'vert, I would say it's a $25,000 car. I am sort of basing this on what I have seen on the current Barrett-Jackson show going on Speed Channel.

yeah i liked it too, stance is a bit high in front but that's a quick fix. a few years back i saw many 65 Conv malibus and SS at good prices (10k-18k) range. Recently, in the last year, i have seen everything (nice rides) go up in price on ebay, mecum, craiglist etc. Here in Houston on craiglist most 64-72 chevelle hunks/projects are priced way high. Nice cars are appropriately priced but can't believe the prices on projects, its incredible. Good luck , keep searching you will find a decent deal.
