At today's crazy prices if you get two bidders that want them, anywhere from $1k to $3k I'd bet. Are you sure they are 65 Z-16s?
These hubcaps, while somewhat rare, were not unique to the Z16. If they are not NOS and have pitting and curb rash, the value drops pretty fast. A used set would be highly unlikely to reach that price point.

If you are truly interested in what they are worth on ebay, you can do a search on ebay itself for past and current auctions of the same item.

The man asked a legitimate question, just wanting an opinion as to value of the '65-'66 Mag style caps. This site is here to help any and all who seek advice with their Chevelles.

I know someone who has 4 hanging on his garage wall (he just turned 65). They came from a new 1966 Impala he owned and I recall seeing him driving the car with the covers.

I wanted to buy them years ago for my 64 Impala but he won't sell them. Don't need the money and likes them decorating his shop.

I recently bought a set of 14" 67 - 69 style that have been restored. I paid $500 Canadian for them although I could have picked them up for $400 if I had the cash at the right time. The vendor packed them up and actually sold them from his Camaro restoration shop to a guy for $500 (only had a small deposit on them), but I came by later and had the cash.

I also have a NOS set of 69 mag-style wheelcovers that I bought years ago. The only Chevy dealer that actually tried to get them for me wanted $600 for a set of 4 back in '87. I found out that in '69 they began producing a 15" version and that is what I have. After '69 they were only offered over the parts counter as dealer accessories. At that time they added charcoal paint into the spokes which my set has.

Here's a picture of them in my showroom

The Z-16 used the same wheelcovers as were available on other Chevies in the 14" size at that time. The 65-66 style is harder to find in good shape and probably will bring more than the later ones. The differences are subtle though.

p.s. Chevy also made 13" versions for Corvairs and Chevy IIs.

A friend and I just picked up a stash of '66-'67 Chevelle parts, most of which was NOS. Among the parts were two sets of wheelcovers. A set of of NOS '67 Chevelle SS wheelcovers and a set of Mag style wheelcovers. I am not sure whether the Mag style covers are '66 or '67.
Can someone please provide information or pictures that will describe the differences?

This is 65/66 Mag Wheel cover.. arrows point to the center emblem and backing plate which are diff. on the 67 Style, though subtle.. I am at work, don't have access to my similar picture for 67 style, it's on the Fact CD too.

67's much more common and easier to find, not nearly the cost.

The easiest way to tell them apart is the 6 digit number on the backside center. 65/66 mag style caps will have 551851, and the 67/68 version has 552205. Once you see the caps side by side you'll never get them confused again.
Before you bid on a set from Ebay, ask the seller for the numbers on back side. Really nice quality 65/66 caps are worth a bunch and nearly impossible to find anymore. Most of the ones you see have dings on the outer rings...not easy to fix. I spent 5 years looking for one here, one there...finally ended up with 4 nice ones.
