The top piece of my tire cover is flat and with an angle at the top, not curved like yours. But it looks like the top lip would end up in the same location.

By the way mine is a 64, so could be a model year thing.

I also added a close up of the rear portion of piece that the tire cover locks in to.

Looks like I am missing the rear piece as well, time to do some metal bending before the paint work! Thanks for the pic! 65 Rod(y)

Fantastic! 2 questions if you don't mind- 1- was the rear piece with rubber bumper welded to the rear corner below the window or pillar? -2- the second to last picture is that the window molding that the spare tire carrier clips under? Sorry for so many questions but i looked at my disassembly pics and those piece are not there. Thanks again for all your help!!!!!(y)

1...No that piece screws into the corner.

2. Yes, that second piece screws into the window channel area behind the spare tire cover.

The first piece I believe is the same as a 4 door wagon...not sure on the longer thin piece.

The last four pics are the piece the top of the tire cover interlocks with.

If you go back and look at the earlier pics I loaded you can see both of them still in the car.

What Pete 67 said about how they attach is correct.

I would expect both pieces to be the same as a 4dr wagon.

Thanks I found a 4 door piece for the window frame piece. Attached are the pics of the spare tire cover and the trim piece for reference, the trim piece does not look like it is the correct shape. Furniture Sleeve Comfort Rectangle Tablecloth

You're talking about the red piece in your pics right?

That piece is supposed to be screwed to the tire cover.

The red piece is a different shape than mine. Does it match the shape of the piece that goes between the back seat and the tire cover and is over the wheel house?

I found this pic of a cover claiming to be from a 67. It looks a lot like yours. Mine is a 64. so it would appear that there are differences based on model year.

Thanks for the post. No the red trim piece does not match the body shape. The body shape is rectangular like your 64. I unscrewed the red piece to strip the paint from the cover to ready for paint. I may try and fabricate a rectangular trim piece to match the body shape since i cannot seem to find one locally. Cheers 65Rod(y)
