I think I’ve seen this done before but I’d like to convert my 64 hood so it has the scoops like the 66-67 super sport hood.
Worth the trouble? Opinions?

That's awesome. I may get some after market louvers and try that myself. The OP has a 64 though.
So he will do the same as you // then Graph them onto his 64 Hood :)

I saw this on a 64/5 El Camino at the Maryland car show a few years ago, it was very nicely done but I think the guy said he spent $2-3k just on the metal work on the hood.
I believe this is the 1965 El Camino you are referring to. Belonged to TC member Raffman.

I think it will look nice and be very unique. The Raffman photos above give you a good idea - looks great. On my 1965 I did the functional cowl induction hood which also gives me the 3 inches of extra hood clearance I need.
