64 dual exhaust fit 67?

Someone locally has nice dual exhaust system up for sale, about 80% of it is welded….. it came off 64 chevelle with 327, he seems to think it would fit my 67 with 283???
If anyone can confirm this I’d appreciate it. If it were clamped together I’d just take a gamble….

Both your '64 and the '67 share the same 115" wheelbase, so yes, it should fit.

How you gonna get a welded system over the axle? I think you'll be cutting so then you can be sure it not only fits but fits nice, JMO

But it came off a 64 chevelle as you see it here, seller says car lift or lifted off the ground will work????

If you add shorty headers, you'll be cutting and welding at some point, either now or later.

I'd offer him $150....at that price you have the foundation of a nice system, IMO.

Tough to tell from the pic, but if you have a few inches at the discharge of the muffler, cut it there and use a flat 2" wide band clamp to clamp it back together. As mentioned above, gonna have to drop the diff to snake something that long through there.

Just my opinion but I think X pipes ruin the sound of a nice V-8 with dual exhaust.

I would get a new 2" exhaust with Mandrill bends without any X pipe. Two #17749 or the 2" equivalent of the Dynomax Super turbo mufflers would sound so nice.

IF you get this installed on your 67 - it's probably going to be there for a while.
Do you really want those big trumpet pipes aimed straight out the back of your ride? I mean - given a choice - is this exhaust exit what you want for your ride?

I was going to go with the straight tips, I went with the turn downs at the end of mine. I like the straight tips though also so it was a dilemma at decision time.
