True, someone could have unhooked the speedometer, even rolled it back. Most people wouldn't have the foresight to do it back in the day, or they would have chosen a more desirable vehicle.

My mom has an 84 Honda accord, she has put 12,000 miles on it since she bought it used in 1985. Lots of cars around here are old person fresh, since cars in this area don't rust. Most are boring as hell, but would make killer cruisers.

They have been trying to hold out for big money selling that car for a while now. At least the last year for sure.

Joe, that's because you made the "mistake" of moving to an area where 100+ mile daily commutes are common. When my parents bought their house the average family with one wage earner could afford a nice house in a decent neighborhood 5 minutes from work.

Even in the early 90's it was 50k difference from one side of the bridge to the other, should have made the stretch, it's now 500k+.

Actually I moved out here from the bay area in '06. I own 2 business' locally......a used car lot and an auto repair shop.... I don't have a commute.....nor did I make a mistake moving out here.....and I sure don't miss the bay area.......You couldn't pay me enough to live in Hayward.. San Leandro etc..

In the early 90's I was in my early 20's and not in any position(nor did I want too) at that time purchase a home in the bay area........ BTW... I'm 45 now
