Hey all I hope this don't sound stupid but I'm looking for the ups and downs between the two.. My overall outcome I like beasty torque but want something apealing to the weekend drive without screeching down the highway like in my other posts I am newer here so I'm just gettin all the info I can.. Oh and its for a 70 chevelle thanks

The 572 is more of a race motor, and way too much $$$ for what you're getting. I would look into a 502 first, as you'll be able to build one that should give as much " beastly torque " as you can handle.

The only downside that I can see with the 502 is no provision for a mechanical fuel pump.

Are you looking for a plug & play crate motor, or just thinking of the cubes and having one built?

Well I am looking for something to build up along the way and if you have seen any of my oher posts my top end project is a 1600hp custom block but its something to start with I just like the way a ram jet looks and I do plan to race some days but like u said its a lot of moula for something that can be better
