Yesterday I installed a zz502 deluxe into my 70 SS Chevelle. I installed the 4 qt oil pan kit from GM along with new motor mounts. The engine seems to sit too low, and my clutch Z-bar does not sit level. My concern is that there is only about an 1/8 of an inch between the oil pan and crossmember. If anybody has done this swap, can you check to see how much clearance you have between the GM oil pan and crossmember. I'm to the point where I want to lift the motor and install some shims between the mounts and engine. What would you do??

I would give us the part number for the pan kit that you used first. Are you sure the pan is the correct one? Did you order the right one and did ya get the one ya ordered?

Also what engine stands are on that frame. Lets not start another 307 frame stands thread ...suffice to say if you have 307 stands, ahhhh never mind. There are good posts about 307 stands versus 350 and BBC stands. Check out the search.
