What spark plugs do these heads take? The plugs that came out was a AC-R43XLS. This plug has a crush ring. The problem is, they don't look right when you look in the hole. The spark plug hole looks like it was cut for a taper seat plug.

Thanks in advance........

Those heads use the 5/8 tapered seat short reach peanut plugs.

These are the same open-chamber heads as the number 990's from Chevy.

Careful here, some Chevy casting have been machined for either. be careful not to use a long reach plug in a short reach hole. Nasty piston damage is only one crank away with that deal.

Thanks guys. It looks like a AC 43TS will fix the problem. The old plug looked long enough to hit the piston, but the pistons did not show any evidence of it. Either way I don't think I want to take a chance.
