The 496 is all put together minus the oil pan. The oil pan just came in today. (Thanks Mike Lewis). I am trying to get the car as ready as I can before I haul it to 72Nova's house for the engine install on Saturday.

Last couple of things left to do and have questions: I am changing from a column shift to a floor shift. The shifter piece that sticks out on the steering column in the engine bay....do you remove the piece or do you just cut it off? Does it matter? I don't think the summit headers will fit if I leave it.

Thanks for all the help everyone, we are almost there.:hurray:

Yes the pick up was with it. And yes that was quick but couldn't have gotten it any later. It worked out and that was all that matters. Since I didn't get the dipstick, do I get a 1/4 compression fitting and use my old dipstick?

Far as I know Milodon still uses the standard "press-in" stock type tube but I don't have one here to look at
If it does not have threads it takes a standard tube

Great, thanks.

Wildman...thanks for the input. I will leave it for now then and not worry about it. At some point I will take it off. I just didn't want to run into clearance issues with my summit headers.
