Hey guys I have a general question
Can a gen 5 454 front assembly fit on to a gen 6 454 front end. Cause I see a guy selling the front end and I need it for my build that’s getting built now. And thanks in advice

The main differences between a Gen V and Gen VI, the Gen VI is set up for factory roller cam using the dog bone style lifter retainers, the Gen V can take a factory roller cam but must use link-bar roller lifters. The coolant holes on the deck are slightly different, but they can use the same head gasket, most aftermarket heads will work on a Gen V but unless you are lucky with the casting only Gen V/Gen VI heads work on the Gen V. The front timing covers are different as the Gen V uses the Mark IV cover, but the only difference on the block is the Gen VI uses two less cover bolts so you can put a Gen VI timing cover on a Gen V block, or to put a Mark IV/Gen V cover on a Gen VI block you should drill and tap the two extra holes.

Is there a place to put a fuel pump on the block you want or are you using an electric fuel pump?

I think he’s asking about the front accessory drive. It should all work as long as you get everything including the balancer. Water pump may be reverse flow??? Slight possibility that some of the bolt holes on the end of the heads are a different size but nothing that can’t be addressed easily.

Yeah, so much for my reading comprehension.
F-body and TBI engines had a good serpentine system that's easily adapted to big blocks, probably the cheapest and easiest way. Last I checked, there were a few companies on sleazebay that sold the adapters.
IIRC, the brackets on a Gen 5 big block are cast iron and heavy as hell...

For the accessory drive you should go with a serpentine system. I highly recommend looking at www.kwikperf.com
I purchased their adaptor kit which uses GM small block serpentine brackets, tensioner, and belts. Much cheaper than other sources. I found the GM brackets on ebay for fairly cheap. If you can not find the correct big block crank serpentine pulley, they sell a spacer which allows you to use a small block version. Make sure you do your measurements on the vehicle it is going in. Kwik perf show dimensions on all their setups.

The factory BBC serpentine setup sure is HEAVY, but sturdy no doubt. And actually very expensive to buy used. I like those Kwik adapters - looks like the way to go. Those SBC serpentine systems are much more compact and lighter. Although, a complete used system seem to be bringing good money also.

You just can't win in this hobby.
