Very good results mr.pro. I wonder just how much power was last with that intake. If that motor or a similar done 454 would you be able to get 530 horsepower. I wonder if you have it almost 1 point of compression and a little head and intake work and get the power up to 530. Or even switch to the factory aluminum dual plane on the bigger cube motor where it could end up. Just thinking out loud.

RH
Mark could take the heads, cam and intake and put it on a LS5 454 and that would be a very good back to back test of a 1969 vs 1970 test. Not sure if that head came on the LS5 in 1970 but mu buddies '71 Chevelle has them on his car.

Wintertime blues, I forget he’s in Colorado
Not for long! All my drag tests will be done in a 30 + baro. Maybe we can discuss performance potential of this combination. I have my thoughts and would like to hear from others. Ready to Race............

We finally got into some decent air in Colorado, of course it only took a negative 14 degrees to get there.

Mr. Pro;), with the rarity of air in your area, I can't for the life of me understand how you manage to build engines that make any kind of power. But I'm betting it helped you build better engines that perform well in all parts of the country. Don't see many sea-level builders that have anything at all to say about how their engines perform at around a mile of elevation!!!

You're going to love being a few thousand feet lower in elevation.
And not much chance of -14F....

Mark has that car set up very well and the passes I've seen show it, if testing will be at 30+ baro I'd say it will a fair bit quicker.

Don't see many out taking advantage of that super mineshaft air this time of year ;), too bad.

We're at about 3400 feet and 10 degrees colder than you are in the Springs today. There are going to be millions in damage due to frozen pipes and such. We'll probably make it a full week without topping the freezing mark, very unusual for us.

During weather like this, my mind always goes back to the 1800's when this country was being settled. Unbelievably tough bastards, both men and women.
