I am looking to ship a disassembled 402 and M21 tranny from California to Ohio. Does anybody know what the approximate weight of the complete engine and trans w/bellhousing would be? Also, has anybody shipped and engine or trans long distances before? If so what companies would you recommend? I am trying to figure out if the shipping will be too cost prohibitive to be worth it.

I would open a commercial account with Yellow Freight. It's free, easy and cheaper than just calling for a quote. I shipped a complete 350 SB on 1 pallet and a 350 trans. on a 1/2 pallet from Miami to Tenn., 340.00, this was about a year ago.

A rough estimate is 800 pounds depending on what all is on the engine.
