Next time LOOK before backing up!! ;)
Wasn't me. This photo is actually from 1972 when it got hit. I didn't get it until 1981. This is what caused the problem.

This is more what it looked like around the time I got my hands on it.

let me guess that little dent buffed right out the next weekend right?

I know been sitting on my car for 38 years and hoping it comes out half as nice as yours did!
Hit by a dump tuck and pushed off the road down an embankment. the truck pulled me out...still drove and made it to the ferry to get home. Tough cars...

Holy moly you are a brave man for taking on that project back then! How much did you pay for the car? $100?
It was entirely rust free and had ended up with paperwork and a POP and all the original drivetrain. I already had two quarters, a trunk floor and a trunklid, all original GM sheetmetal. I found a frame out from under a California car.

Guy in the Olds was drunk and high and sped off down the street ricocheting off numerous cars ending with plowing into the Chevelle as it sat parked in front of the previous owner's house.

I think Verle owns a '65 as well. Navy blue and may be the original owner. Both really nice and bring back a ton of memories. After harvest, the farm kids in Illinois bought the L79's with their harvest money. They raced em on Sundays on the 2 lane blacktop. Great memories.
