I purchased a 67 Malibu 136 vin ( so original v8 ) , 13617 tag. It has a 396 motor. It has zero badging of any kind - nothing , the body is 100% clean of any badging.

I plan on putting all factory correct Chevelle and Malibu badging , except for the fender flags. I am thinking of placing 396 and wanted to get some opinions/feedback . This is my first classic , new to all of this and wanted to see what y’all thought. Thank you.

Do what YOU want. If you cut the studs off the back, you can use some 3M double sided tape and trim it with a razor blade to fit the emblem. Amazon.com: 3M Double Sided Tape, Waterproof Heavy Duty Foam Tape, 36FT Length, 0.4 Inch Width for Car, Home Decor, Office Decor : Office Products If you get tired of it, heat it with a hair drier and remove it.

I did this with some Impala flags and they have stuck in scorching heat for 6 years now. View attachment 722040
Thanks ! Great looking impala 😎

Sometimes it is interesting to place an unusual badge in an unusual place to see if the world is still asleep or up to notice "the difference", and create "factory special" badging.

On my 67 I never got around to drilling / locating the badge holes, so I don't have any. I like the look, but I like the V flags too. 283 did not have displacement (at least my 67 didn't).

I agree, it's your car, do what you want. 396 badges would be cool.

I bought a set of the 396 Cross Flags to put on my 71 Malibu but just couldn't find a place where I liked them on the outside of the car so I put them here. I bought a set of front fender 71 Camaro 396 emblems and placed them on the side of the domed hood.
