I need some cam advice for my 396 that I'm putting in my 75 chevy truck. Here is what I have to work with. .030 396, 390 closed chamber oval ports, edelbrock intake, 650 double pumper Holley, 66 vette exhaust manifolds, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, turbo 400, 3:73 posi. I want to run a hydraulic cam in it. I also would like it to have somewhat of a loap to the idle, and I want to shred my 275/60's. Any recomendations? Thanks

Do a search, lots of good info out there. A Lunati Voodoo 276 would be nice or maybe a Bracket Master cam. I would get some good headers and a good 750 carb though.

As far as I am concerned, probably not a whole lot of difference between a '69 Chevelle and a reg cab pickup, maybe a couple hundred pounds?
Actually my 69 small block chevelle with a full tank weighs 3490. My 1983 regular cab long box 2WD with a small block weighs 4200 with full tanks. So, the difference is actually like 700 pounds. More if the truck is 4WD.
