Hello to All ,

I am a new member and proud owner of a 67 chevelle that I am going to stick a 396 in. Purchased a 396 hipo block (68) and have a set of stock large oval/open port (71) heads and stock steel crank. Would love to hear some suggestions on what parts to put together and any mods for a tasty street machine that will run on pump gas.

Imho, just make sure your CR. is up about 10 to 1 and with no more than an old CC 280 Magnum hy-cam and a 750 Holley on a high-rise along with a cheap set of 1.75" four tube, long headers and you are looking at 400hp easy!!

AND it will handle pump gas better then the old 375hp/396, 11 to 1 CR, L-78 motor too!
