I have a 350 sbc in my 71 chevelle and I cant figure out what the numbers mean. the numbers are on front of the block they read V0424TKA and C85193073

It means you have a 350 from a truck ,made in Flint on April 24th:
TKA 76 350 Truck 165 LS-9 4-Brl
TKA 78 350 Truck 165 LS-9 4-Brl
TKA 80 350 Truck 165 LS-9 4-Brl
TKA 92 350 Truck 210 L-05 TBI

You'll need the Block Date Code to determine which one you have:

Yeah Mike ,I thought it was the 78 too ,but not sure the sequence (C85193073) is correct.

5 - Needs to be checked, maybe a S for St Louis Assembly
rest are the unit serial number or could be a Z for Fremont
