I know that AN fittings can be used for what I want to do, but space will be an issue (the straight adapter w/ the sweep 90° fitting on it sticks way out). Does anyone make a sweep 90° fitting that directly threads into 3/8 NPT threads, that will be fairly compact like the AN 90° sweep fittings are?? The barbed part will need to be for 3/8" hose. Let me know. Thanks.

Will a street elbow do what you need? They have male threads on one end and female on the other.

Or a hose barb elbow.

Something like this?
long sweep 3/8" 90 degree hose barb street elbow - Bing images
I can't find any 3/8" only 1/2" and 3/4"
Maybe you could do it with two fittings, one 3/8" threaded street elbow with one 3/8" threaded hose barb fitting
Why can’t you use a 90 degree pipe fitting and a straight hose end?

All of those fitting are hard 90s, which is not good for fuel flow. I want a sweep (curved) 90° fitting, so that it does not cause cavitation or interruption of the fuel flow. I need something like this, but without the swivel - it needs to have 3/8NPT threads on it.

How much room do you have? Can you put a 3/8 npt to an6 fitting in the pump and then use that fitting you linked to? That way you can tighten the fitting in the pump as much as you need and then use the fitting you linked to in order to get the line where you need it.

like this? Mr. Gasket 2970G 90 Degree Fuel Line Fitting - 3/8 Inch NPT to 3/8 Inch Hose | eBay

keep in mind though that something like this, unlike the NPT fittings that swivel might not, if fully tightened, face the direction you need it to. I just ran into this problem and I switched to the AN swivel fitting.
A fitting like that would work. I would determine the angle needed and make sure that I could tighten to that point and it should work (that's what I did with the street 90s).

I have the adapter fitting with the swivel AN 90° fitting, but I think it will stick out too far (my fuel pump position is not ideal, and I really don't see anyplace under the car to mount it with more clearance.

With a NPT you can probably stop it in what ever direction you want if you use Permatex #2 Form A Gasket the male threads (not close to the first threads on it's end though)
