Ok guys I've got a strange problem with my wife's 2006 Trailblazer . On mornings below 30 degrees it will start and after a few seconds shut off. Now the strange part is that it won't crank after it shuts off . I would look at the usual suspects, throttle body, injectors , etc., if it weren't not cranking .Now if I wait 20 minutes it will crank and same thing happens. When temps are above 30 it runs like a champ. It has a brand new battery .

Lots of ignition switch problems with these trucks.Try tapping on the top of the column while cranking.Start and run circuits use relays and fuses in the underhood fuse block also. A good test light is all you need to diagnose the no crank problem. The start, then stall will take a good technician to diagnose. Problem with ignition switch may solve both.

Check the wiring harness that runs thru the tailgate into the rear of the roof. Our old 07 had a ground wire that needed repair. That affected the door module, tailgate module and the ignition issues brought on with different weather. Tedious job pulling back the little boot but enough to get some heat shrink tubing on the wire and a soldering gun tip. Solved a lot of odd electrical issues and the kid is still running it.
