I am about to purchase a 12 bolt rear end tomorrow and the guy is also selling a set of 02 Camaro brakes with everything it needs. I am wondering how difficult it will be to make these fit the 12 bolt I am buying. He says it has everything it needs but I do not know what all I need so I cannot really trust what he is saying.

Can someone please tell me if it is worth my time and $250 bucks?

Also what parts do I need to make sure are there?

If the $250 is just for the brakes I feel it is too much. As far as bolting on, pretty much it is. The backing plate will need to be spaced away from the flange around 1/4" to put the rotor in the center of the abutment. The outer diameter of the axle flange will need to be turned down to fit in the rotor.
Parts needed are the backing plate assemblies with the park brake parts, caliper, abutment, rotor and the bolts that mount the the abutment to the backing plates. Parking brake cables are a plus. When mounting if using the existing park cables to activate the parking brakes it is easier to mount the backing plates on opposite sides of the car, IE: left on passenger side and right on drivers side.
I have photos of them installed on my Nova and will soon be installing them on a 12 bolt for the Chevelle.

I paid $175 for my rear set up with rotors. The set up purchased for the Chevelle was from a 2000 Camaro and front, rear, cables and rotors was $300.
The boots on the parking brake levers are expensive to replace because of shipping costs from the only supplier I know of that sells them, if they are torn it may be a bargaining point on price.

The ones used on the Nova were cleaned and painted. Calipers were not rebuilt, new pads installed and they have been working well for nearly 2 years. The ones going on the Chevelle will be the same. Clean, paint, install. The Chevelle will have the Camaro front brakes too.

What are you referring to turning down to fit the axles? Mine bolted right on and don't seem to have any issues?

Instead of trying to space the backing plates out, I clearanced the inside of the caliper brackets to make sure they wouldn't rub when the axle slides in and out due to slack in the c clips.

The stock axle will not fit inside the rotor, some after market axles will.

Thank you for all the help. I think I am going to purchase them. It sounds reasonable for 250. the only extra thing I will need is the emergency brake cables.

Interesting to know. Mine fit perfect but they are indeed some no name aftermarkets from ebay long ago (I suspect they were factory 2nds from a name brand company as they are very well made but beefier than stock)
