If it's been towed with it's whole life I wonder how long the trans/ rear will last.

I imagine the new engine cost the owner a ton?
Is it a factory GM replacement engine professionally installed? That's gotta be close to 1/2 of what he's asking at least.
Is the engine under a transferrable warranty?

But yeah sounds overpriced to me too for a 13 year old truck.
I'd be hunting for a newer model, but if this one really gets you moving more like $7,500?

Edit... looked up some pricing on these, all over the board so I guess it all depends on condition and if the engine replacement was a top quality job.

A GM crate engine was installed professionally-seller has all reciepts-the fact that its a crate engine scares me a little as I hear a lot of oil consumption stories on these crate motors although he claims no oil use.

I was going to low ball the seller at $6000 and go as high as $6500 max. Its been for sale a while they say and I really dont need to buy it. Its in real good shape and appears to be well taken care of.

Guessing at the options, Kelley Blue Book puts that truck at a maximum value in excellent condition at $6,449.

Guess I shoulda read the ad before I posted..... I guess that's why its cheap. Injectors are about $250ea plus labor. I think book time is somewhere around 11 hours... I learned that the hard way BTW

Unless its a 4X4. Its worth maybe 6K around here. But then, we get weather that calls for the need of 4 wheel drive and most have no interest in trucks of that size that dont have it.

I went and looked and drove it-waaaaaaaaaaay to much wrong for anything near $9300

Owner installed replacement GM crate engine-has recipts for motor though.
-Exhaust leak in dual exhaust system.

Original trans(4L80E), 14 bolt corp(full float) diff 147K miles not rebuilt on either.

Interior shows age of being left outside(cracks/splits/fade/etc).

Piant is fading and thin but in OK condtion

Tires need replacing as do rear brakes.

I offered $6k cash and he basically said he will keep it for that.

Looks like he will be keeping it for quite some time then. Until he figures out its not worth much more then the offer you made, he wont be letting it go to anyone then and have to learn himself.
