I've read and heard about 1 piece rear seal and 2 piece rear seal.....What is that ??? Something to do with the crank ?....///KIM

It refers to the rear crankshaft seal. The earlier engines, up to around 1985 used a 2 pc seal. The newer engines use a single round seal.

Mk IV's & early Gen V's (as well as some "specialty" blocks) used 2 pc rear main / crank seals (to about 1990), the later Gen V & Gen VI's use 1 pc rear main seals
