I picked up a 12 bolt for my Chevelle today. It's a 3.31 posi that someone pulled the clutch packs out of. I am going to return it to it's posi status and put it in the car for now. Eventually I will pull it back out and build it to be either a 4.10 or 4.56 posi with upgraded axles and spider gears. For the time being I think the 3.31's will make it drive off quite a bit better than with the 2.73.

What might I be able to get out of the ten bolt that is in the car now? It will be basically complete. I'm going to pull the brake hardware and put it on the 12 bolt. Other than that it will all be there. Thanks in advance for any help.

Fair enough. I'm not looking to get rich off it. I figured if I could recoup some of the money I spent on the 12 bolt that'd be nice. If not I may just hang on to it.

Ten bolt means that there are ten bolts that bolt the ring gear on to the carrier inside the differential.

Peg leg refers to an open differential. Not a limited slip or posi-traction.
