I'm pretty sure it's because of the cd player that was installed in the truck. I'm not sure how long it was in the truck when i bought it 3 months ago (it's a used work truck) everything worked fine. I gave my dad a boost (he has a '65 Impala SS) and i think the next day my CTSY fuse blew out.

I was sure it was the cd player so i taped all the ends and put a new fuse. the light inside the truck came on for a full second then the fuse blew. any other time i put a fuse in it pops before i put it fully in. I heard it may be the orange wire?

I'm not too sure I'm 20 years old and don't know too much about wiring or vehicles and I don't have anyone to help me.

I don't have anything installed in the truck except the cd player which i didn't install nor know how to install one lol.
My inside and back lights have been out of course because of the CTSY if you can help by all means please do!

after taping all the ends of the wires, i put a 30 fuse in there and it works fine. i drove it around for a bit and all still seems well. i checked everything for any sign or smell of anything hot or anything and nothing seemed wrong. I wonder what could be the problem?

Maybe a short? or pinch? or ground wire? or too much power? hopefully this is enough information for one of you life savers to figure out.

anything plugged into the cig lighter? or is there any shorts at the cig lighter. I think that's on the same circuit as the CTSY fuse. Not sure but I think I had that problem on my 1994 1500 when I had it.
