Without spending $3 million, who has the closest look/color in shock absorbers. Perhaps repros? Source / website? What color should they be? I will show but not concourse.

If memory serves me right, they were not spiral shocks on the ss 454.
In 1972 the front shocks for all Chevelle SS used station wagon shocks part # 3192822. All shocks were manufactured by Delco, and were painted 30% gloss black, any other brand or color would be incorrect.
Rear shocks for the 1972 year were Delco part # 4949840 for cars with the L48 and L65 engine, and Delco part # 4949841 for LS3 and LS5 and were painted to match the front shocks. Hope this helps you out.

I sometimes feel real stupid in these chat rooms. I guess that will change with time. Where can I purchase these (or very similar) shocks?
