I have a 1972 malibu ss clone. I originaly had a bench seat. and i fit very well in it. but then i found a set of 1972 buckets and installed them. I mounted the left side to the same spot as the bench seat and bought the inner brackets for the inside. prblem is the seat fits to high and does not go back far enough. is there differant seat adjusters? I'm 5'10 and really dont fit since i installed the buckets.

The seats have new foam. I went with the aci foam that everyone told me is the best.

I'm 5'10, and run the buckets all the way back. When we did new foam, I sat so high my head nearly rubbed on the headliner. Over some time and use, they've settled down where they oughta be. How new is the foam?

Brand new but i/m about ready to put the bench back in

I am also 5'10" and have the buckets with ACI foam. Don't have any height problems. Would be nice if the seat did go back further but I am ok with how far back it goes.
If you do a search you will find a thread where someone basically moved the seat tracks and drilled new holes in the seat frame which allowed the seat to be moved back further. As far as the height I know some have cut the feet on the tracks and rewelded them back at a lower height. Doesn't seem to me that one would gain that much head room but who knows.

Same here. My head doesn't touch, but the seats are all the way back.

I am in the process of moving mine back this weekend. I bought some 3/16ths X 2" X 20" strips and plan to move the seats back 2". I test fit them last night and with the seats back all the way I just reach the pedals. Should be perfect. Not to mention, It feels like the is a little more head room as the floorboard is a little lower on the rear 2" back. looking forward to my test drive.

I got the passengers seat in along with the console and what a difference the extra legroom made. It even feels like I sit a little lower.
